Final Shakespeare Research Essay: Reflective Tag

The Final Research Essay for the course was one where I was able to draw on a previous essay regarding Othello where I examined patriarchy and marriage within the play. Having previously looked at the topic, I worked to develop further ideas but ultimately stayed in the same vein that patriarchy was evident in a number of different ways, and exhibited by Othello—but with the assistance of other characters. One thing I delved deeper into in this paper was the idea that other characters—through Shakespeare’s ability to position them—contributed to the unfortunate fatality that patriarchy played a significant role in. Lastly, I drew from a few different sources that I had not drawn on in my previous paper to help synthesize my claims.
