The play that was made by the National Theatre was one of the most in-depth adaptations that I have seen of the novel in this class. Through the artistic freedom that was used to show the “birth” of the creature at the beginning of the play, to how the creature ended with it and Dr. Frankenstein going through the artic, it just all made me more drawn to the novel as a whole. Ultimately, this is one of the most well acted and produced stage pieces that I have seen and should be the production that other novel-to-stage adaptations should look to for guidance.
