Essay 1: Frankenstein Literary Review

The essay linked in this post is a Literary Review of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Its sources are focused around other literary reviews from the time period that the book was first published in. Posing the question inside the essay, “Is God all-powerful or can man become God?” it looks at the evidence given throughout the novel and through the literary reviews that shows that man, although capable of becoming God, man is not supposed to act like they are God. It also discusses how Dr. Frankenstein takes on this role and what becomes of him.

Although short, at three pages, it covers a large portion of the novel in a short, bite-sized essay. This allows the reader to obtain a short look at some of the major features inside of the novel without having to read the novel themselves. However, the point of the review is to also pique interests among those who read it to read Frankenstein themselves.
