Online Research of Self

  1. How well did the results represent who you are professionally?
    1. While doing the online search I found that I am not well represented professionally. I need to create a linked in account in order to create a professional webpage. I also need to make my VMI ePortfolio more accessable, because it is one of my professional webpages that would be more beneficial if it was accessable.
  2. Did you find yourself at all? If not, why not?
    1. At first I did not find myself at all. The reason for this is that my birth name is Andrew; however, I go by Drew with my friends and family. Originally I typed in Andrew Crane with hopes of finding some sort of professional representation, but this was not the case. I would like to keep Andrew as my professional name, and in order to have an online presence with this name I need to create sites that use this name. After searching drew crane I was able to find my twitter, as well as my facebook page which are the only two online social media sites that I use.
  3. What can you do to revise / develop your digital identity to make you a better candidate for your future career?
    1. The first step to consider will be to create a linked in account. When doing research on professionals in my future career path I found that many of them for example Glenn Sullivan, a clinician here in Lexington, Virginia, have linked in accounts which they use to connect with others. After creating a Linked in account I will also attempt to improve my ePortolio. In order to increase credibility for graduate schools, interested in my ability to complete their research, I will increase the amount of Psychology material presented on my ePortfolio. I will publish different articles that I discuss for the different course that I am currently in, as well as the research that I am beginning next semester.
