I do not believe that it will ever be possible to escapes bias in regards to any environment but especially within the realm of advocacy. To advocate a position for something entails that you have a fixed opinion on that idea or concept. Though there is nothing wrong with that, it is automatically going to open the door to being potentially biased about something.
I used to think that because the internet was so full of different viewpoints that perhaps people could be granted the opportunity to free their minds. It is essays like this that remind me that that rarely happens. For example, it is very unlikely that a white supremacist would find an article condemning white supremacists and change his or her beliefs. It would make them angry. Make them want to advocate more for their belief. So ultimately I think that the internet is basically a network of political biases that are always trying to out prove the other one. The only people affected by this are the people with no set opinion. Nobody else will probably be swayed in another direction.
