Tag: In this article you will read that men and women are looked at as inequalities but in truth they are equal. Women are better in some senses and men are better at others, but just because men are bigger and stronger doesn’t mean that they are any better then women.
In retrospect when you look at men and women you would think that men are better because they are bigger and stronger and faster, but in all reality women have the dominant life expectancy. Men are the submissive sex, while women are the dominant sex.
There are many factors that relate to health and disease differences among men vs. women some of them are culture norms, income differences, biological makeups, and women’s longer life expectancy. These factors influence the gender health gap. For health and illness men and women are different. Women will treat themselves and try to handle it without help from doctors but men will go and seek medical assistance right away. Men are usually more prone to life threatening diseases such as cancer, heart disease, etc. Women aren’t as vulnerable to life threatening diseases due to the fact that they bear children and go through physiological stress during pregnant. In the United States it is true the men do make more because the government doesn’t think that women are as good as men or suitable as men are. But in all reality we have women who hold high-end positions in the government and in the military women are being paid the same wages and are now being treated as equal to men.
Gender norms such as masculinity can influence behavior in males such as athletics. Men think that since they are stronger and faster that they are greater at sports and everything else. Long ago women were not allowed to play sports because of funding and health reasons but in all honesty I think it was due to the fact of women not being as good as men. But soon that all changed and now there is equality in sports.
Men are not the type to go ask for help because of there masculinity. They fear that if they reach out for help that they will be seen as weak and pathetic. With this men fear of going to health clinics they would rather just go without and “tough it out.” This is not how men should feel, if they need help with illness or health care they should seek it out not hid in fear.
Gender transformative interventions can be described as approaches that seek to transform gender roles and provide more stable relationships between men and women. These programs try to prevent the men and boys from being judged or harassed.
