Free Write – 12/02/2016

One of the biggest problems I have always had with my writing was my ability to organize my ideas into a solid essay format. When I write, I usually just begin writing the paper straight off the bat, spitting out all of the information in my head onto the paper with the hopes that it will somehow flow. Upon revising this is usually not the case. My ideas are usually severely jumbles up and disorganized. One solution to this could be creating an outline, but I find this too time consuming and often to be more work than writing the essay itself. A better option for myself could be to create an outlining hitting on the main ideas of several sections in the paper and labeling the order in which the sections would go in. From there I could free write within those sections and only have to focus readjusting my ideas and structure on a small level instead of within the entirety of the paper. Just making this small change has the ability to severely improve the quality of my writing as well as my organization skills.
