Malcolm X Classwork 11/01

I believe one of the biggest reasons Malcolm X strived to be a more traditional writer was to gain the appeal of his audience. Malcolm X liked to use various other established texts within his own to carry one of his ideas to another. By relating his own ideas to these historical authors like Muhammad, he is appealing to the people, just as the authors of the texts he uses for reference did. By doing so, his sense of traditional writing gave him the power to amass large amounts of people who would actually listen and believe what he said. This almost gave him a godly power and following similarly to Martin Luther King.
