Throughout SP-204X I was able to learn and transfer a lot of information pertaining to the Spanish speaking world.  There have been many assignments that allowed me to show what I can do and show how proficient I am at those tasks.  I can provide information about airplane fares using simple sentences, I can make comparisons between products and practices to help understand perspectives, I can make comparisons between products to help understand the practices between countries, and I can provide personal information by filling out a form about international travel.

My first artifact is IPA I the presentation section.  For this section we had to create a radio advertisement promoting flying with American Airlines.  I created a dialogue consisting of about six to seven simple and compound sentences. To show how this artifact demonstrates communication between Spanish speaking regions, I can create a voice recording that would logically display the premise of the advertisement.  I can tell the audience that is listening what is so great about taking the American Airlines over other airlines.

My next artifact is the Webcast video.  For this I had to create a video that demonstrated the norms used in business with a Spanish speaking country and the country I used was Costa Rica. I can identify products/practices and perspectives related to professional relationships with people and organizations in or from my target culture.  So, I went over how they conduct business, what they wear, and how they feel about outsiders doing business.  I can communicate by creating a video explaining the practices, products, and perspectives of doing business in a Spanish speaking country and informing those who do not know and getting them educated beforehand

My next artifact is the Market Study.  For this I created a comparison chart between products and how they are advertised in the United States and a Spanish speaking country.  I can compare between products and identify cultural practices related to marketing to people in or from my target culture. The way I am able to communicate this is I can research brands in the United States and in Spanish countries by visiting websites and watching commercials to compare and contrast the practices used between the cultures.

My last artifact is the formularios.  For this artifact I had to put down personal information and fill out various forms.  I can fill out real forms with real information for travel, wiring money, and department store.  I created a draft that would logically display what I wanted to get across.  I was able to communicate this because filling out this information shows how easy and what information is actually need in order to get things processed.

Finally, I can provide information for conducting business with a Spanish speaking country through speaking and writing.

SINCERELY,

TYLER BERNERO
