1.)What is the rhetor trying to persuade her readers about writing?
She is trying to get the students to understand the concept of more critical thinking and wanting them to be able to realize and see the rhetoric properties. She also is persuading her students to get more in depth in analysis and be aware of the how the rhetoric effects persuasion.
2.)what kind of ethos is that creating?
She is creating the ethos that she is very organized when teaching and is all business because she has put detailed descriptions of all the work students will be doing in class. She also put her expectation of the her students on the first page and by using the words like “Students will develop …gain..grow”.
3.)How does that ethos help or negate her persuasive efforts?
By stating the expectation of here students and what they will be required to do she is almost scaring the students into having to work hard on learning persuasive writing.
