- Write your own explanation of how the “academic” and the “personal” interrelate. In what sense is your schoolwork personal, and in what sense do you bring your “personal” into your schoolwork? How does one shape the other?
Everyone understands and learns what is “academic” in their own way. They connect these things to their past experiences, both “personal” and “academic.” My schoolwork, especially for English classes, has to be personal. This is because every essay I have to write about is my own essay, and I have write these essays through research and my own minds. The way we think comes from past experiences, whether they be at school, or at our home environment. Everything that happens in our lives makes us who we are, and hones us into the people we are today. Our opinions of these past experiences shapes how we write about certain topics.
