Louis Daguerre’s  The Artist’s Studio, is very unique. Daguerre developed the early process of a photograph called daguerreotype. Daguerre wanted capture images he saw through his camera obscura. Camera obscura is an image of the scene outside will be projected upside-down onto any surface opposite to the hole, more or less distinct depending on the size of the hole and the distance to the surface. This painting is a example of still life with plaster casts.

Oscar Gustav Rejlander. The two ways of life.

This print depicts a philosopher, father leading two young men towards manhood. The man on the left looks towards vice; gambling, wine and prostitution, and the other, with perhaps less enthusiasm, looks towards virtue; religion, industry and family. This print is made of thirty-two images.

The image was the first publicly exhibited photograph of a nude in England, the first major art photograph and the first photo-montage. http://www.codex99.com/photography/10.html

At the time nude figures were not common. Rejlander is a unique artist for trying to convey sinful pleasures and high morals.
