My writing journey during this class has definitely been one of improvement. When I came, I had never had to write an analytical paper. I was merely required to regurgitate information. When I got into this class I learned fast that I needed to answer/explain why what I was saying proved my point, and why that was important.  This was certainly a challenge because I didn’t always know how to answer those questions. After having completed a majority of the class, I definitely have a better understanding of how to do that, although I am sometimes still challenged by explaining my evidence. I will often think my purpose for including a certain quote or paraphrase is obvious and won’t explain, or I’ll not know how to explain its importance. Additionally, this class has made me think critically much more than English in high school, which will certainly be useful in other subjects and in life.
