I am pursuing a job at Lucid Perspectives upon graduation. It’s a company located in Northern Virginia. They are a government contracting company that develops government applications. One thing that drew me to this company was that the company is a startup and only two years old. One of the professors in the Computer Science department sent out an email to all the first and second class cadets in the department telling us that they were going to come to VMI and speak with us about the company. I provided them with a copy of my resume during our meeting. Shortly after the meeting, I received an email from the CEO of the company offering an interview. After the interview process, they offered me a job and I accepted it. If you are considering getting into the field of computer science, then I would start doing some research online about the field or you can talk to one of the instructors in the department. Any of the instructors in the department would be happy to talk to anyone about the field. There are also many resources online that will teach you how to code for free. I would consider looking into those first because that will give you some experience with coding. From there, if you like it, then I would start talking with the department, or anyone you know in the field.
