Career Perspective – RS&H

Major: Civil Engineering

RS&H Engineering

Upon graduation I will begin work with RS&H in Virginia Beach, working to rebuild the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel.

I found out about this opportunity originally when RS&H came to VMI and hosted a seminar in the engineering building in which they thoroughly described who they are, what they do, and what opportunities they have to offer us. They also have come to many of the career fairs here at VMI.

In order to get in touch with RS&H I got in touch with an alumnus that I know through Facebook and LinkedIn. From there I gave him my resume directly, and he passed it on to their recruitment office.

I highly recommend for whatever company you try to work for, that you get in touch with someone on the inside, even if you don’t know them very well (or at all). It is a lot easier to get an interview with a company if you have a connection in the company.
